The top two officials in the Catoosa Republican Party stepped down at the party’s meeting Thursday night. Brad Scott, chairman, and Ann Knight, second vice president, both resigned their positions. In March 2005, Catoosa Republicans elected the then 19-year-old Scott as the local GOP chairman. Scott said his decision to resign was due to scheduling conflicts. Catoosa Republican Party leaders resign
Authored by: GGRAYSON on Monday, June 12 2006 @ 09:38 PM EDT
To the True Republicans of Catoosa County:

Don't be deceived! Just as in the recent past, we are seeing more of the same. The elections are being decided in the Republican Primary. The Republicans of Catoosa County do not turn out for the Primary, erroneously thinking the General Election is all that matters and the "good ole boys" disguised as Republicans bring their vested interests to the primary to win the election. Slick, you must admit.

If the Republicans of Catoosa County do not wake up and take control of their primary, political party affiliation in Catoosa County will mean nothing; "Party politics" in local elections will become a mere farce; party platforms will be only rhetoric; and gallant ideals unrealized.

Don’t just take my word for it. Follow the money. Examine the past party affiliations of the current candidates and elected officials. I can name several that "hastily threw off the rags of the Democratic Party and donned Republican Robes"…more like wolves in sheep’s clothing. The Democrats are jumping ship like drowning rats. It is even hard to find one. They do not and will not adhere to any party line; this is demonstrated by the ease in which they proselyte themselves. They seek their own agenda, solely and at the pleasure of their vested interests. RHINOS (Republican in name only) care about one thing...remaining at the public trough and feeding on the publics' dole. Some have never tasted anything else. Taxes will continue to rise, budgets will continue to bloat, and we as citizens will continue to wear saddles on our backs. How ironic…the once noble Republicans of Catoosa County are becoming the jackass.

It is a shame to see a once thriving and growing party, accomplishing good things, collapse into infighting and incompetence. But what do we expect...welcome some more "good ole boys" into the party Mr. & Mrs. Chairman.

Mark my words; the Republican Party will enjoy more of the Democratic Regime membership and will receive them into the fold with open and ignorant arms.

Forgive me, indulge me, or hate me, but it had to be said.
