Do you like to listen to Internet radio shows while working around the house? What about while reading e-mail at the office?If so, the days of this luxury 'could' be coming come to an end.
Here is an excerpt from www.savenetradio.com: 'The future of Internet radio is in immediate danger. Royalty rates for webcasters have been drastically increased by a recent ruling and are due to go into effect on July 15 (retroactive to Jan 1, 2006!). If the increased rates remain unchanged, the majority of webcasters will go bankrupt and silent on this date.'
Just recently, legislation was introduced into Congress that would prevent this increase, though. Will the vibrant world of 'Net radio survive the summer? Only time will tell.
