The Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a forced-entry burglary that at Smith Chapel United Methodist Church in Tunnel Hill.

Reports show that the break-in took place between 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 20 and 12:42 p.m. at 1721 Smith Chapel Road, and resulted in the theft of more than $7,000 worth of electronics.

The complainant told police she arrived at the church to find that someone had entered through the front door of the church by breaking the handle, and made off with several pieces of electronic equipment.

A mixer soundboard, two amplifiers, a flat screen television, speakers and a wireless microphone receiver were reported stolen during the incident.

No serial numbers were immediately made available.

The case was turned over to detective Ronald Roach.
