Would you like to see a new YMCA in Catoosa County?

I agree, I would like to hear comments on the "NO's". My husband and I were just talking about why the YMCA on Hwy 2 was discontinued after the property being purchased and prepared. I don't know if I am remembering correctly, but I thought that Catoosa Co government wanted the YMCA to pay taxes and, of course, they are a non-profit. Does anyone else recall anything like this???

I would love to see a new Y built here like the one up by Hamilton Place. That Y is cool. It is really weird how there are so many places to get junk food, and very few places to work out in this area.

My family and I moved here from a larger city that offered many summer activities. We've been here thru 3 summers and this is the first summer that my children actually had a fun, fulfilling summer. Both of us work full time and still fall under the proverty level. Therefore we cannot afford to send them to expensive summer camps and daycare centers. The YMCA offers a scholarship program that we found out about in the spring and signed up. My children had one of the best summers of their lives thanks to the Catoosa CO YMCA. We really do need a new YMCA to make this opportunity available to more low income children.DO WE WANT OUR CHILDREN SPENDING THIER SUMMERS UNSUPERVISED & IN TROUBLE OR AT THE YMCA,MAKING NEW FRIENDS & LIFELONG MEMORIES???????????
