Steps to connect a Playstation 2 to PS2 Online with Quickserv DSL What is PS2 Online?

PS2 Online is the online gaming component of Sony’s Playstation 2 console. It allows users to play multiplayer games online using your existing internet connection.

PS2 Online Requirements

To use Playstation 2 Online, you will need the following:
  1. Playstation 2 console
  2. Broadband Internet Connection (Quickserv DSL)
  3. PS2 Network adapter (purchased from your local video game retailer)
  4. Playstation 2 memory card

Walkthrough
  1. If you have a computer also, you must either have a router or being paying for a 2nd MAC address
    1. Contact 965-2301 to add a 2nd MAC address ($5 Monthly fee)
    2. You will need to contact Ringgold Telephone Company’s technical support (965-2301) to put your router’s MAC address online for your account if you have not already done so.
    3. Before you connect your Playstation 2 console to your router, make sure your router, DSL modem, and PS2 are all powered off
    4. Take an Ethernet cable and run it from the modem into the “Internet” or the “WAN” port on the back of the router.
    5. Plug your computer into any of the 1,2,3,4 ports on the back of your router.
    6. Repeat step 4 for the PS2 console.
    7. Power on your modem and wait 15 seconds
    8. Power on your router and wait 15 seconds
    9. Power on your PS2 with the network adapter setup wizard disc in it



    10. Choose “ISP Setup”
    11. Read the End User License Agreement and press “Agree” if you agree to those terms



    12. Choose "I have an ISP"



    13. Choose "Automatic Configuration"



    14. When it asks for your ISP, choose "Other"



    15. Choose "Test Settings"



    16. After the test completes, choose "Continue"



    17. When it asks for the name of your ISP, enter "RTC" or "Catt.com"



    18. Once the setup is complete, choose "Return to Main Menu"



    19. The setup is now complete and you are now ready to play your favorite PS2 games online!
