Pennies for Prom helps ensure local students don't miss prom or graduation due to finances

pennies for prom 2017

Three years ago--3 weeks before prom--Shay Love got a call from the schools asking her help for some local kids who couldn’t afford to attend prom. After seeing this major need in the community, she decided to make it an annual fundraiser. She is partnering with the PLC in Fort Oglethorpe to help get a list of students in need. Along with Shay’s work and donations—monetary and dresses--from the community, Southern Charm is helping with Tuxedo rentals for the boys.

Last year, about 3 weeks before prom, Shay Love got a call from the schools asking her help for some local kids who couldn’t afford to attend prom. After seeing the major need in the community, she decided to do it again this year, but to start the process much earlier. She is partnering with the PLC in Fort Oglethorpe to help get a list of students in need. Along with Shay’s work and donations—monetary and dresses--from the community, Southern Charm is helping with Tuxedo rentals for the boys.
