A Ringgold teen drowned over the weekend after he slipped into Chickamauga Creek while swimming with friends and never resurfaced, police say.

According to the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Damond Anthony Ray Beck went missing from the creek bank off of Carrol Road shortly before 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18.

Beck’s body was located in the early morning hours of Sunday morning after emergency crews worked through the night searching for the young man.
